Civil IQ was engaged to deliver the civil works package for a commercial facility redevelopment in Takapuna on Auckland’s North Shore. The project required a coordinated programme across multiple work packages on an active commercial site, with Civil IQ managing the full civil scope from project management through to concrete pavement.

Project in brief
The Takapuna project centred on a large-scale retaining system using mass block and a proprietary wall system to establish the new yard levels for the facility. Work was carried out in a live commercial environment, with active operations on adjacent areas of the site throughout the programme.
The mass block wall was constructed and brought near to completion before backfill was progressed and the new dry goods yard area was prepared. Tilt panel erection, drainage installation, and concrete pavement followed in sequence, with Civil IQ coordinating the programme to keep trades moving without delays.
Managing a multi-trade civil package in a live urban commercial environment requires careful sequencing and clear communication with the client and other site contractors. Civil IQ self-performed the core civil works and coordinated with the wider project team throughout delivery.
The outcome
The completed works delivered a new yard surface, drainage system, and retaining structure ready for the client’s operations.
