The Elizabeth Street Reserve project
The Elizabeth Street Reserve project centred on upgrading a public riverside reserve in central Warkworth, working within a bush-covered site where plant access was limited throughout the programme.

Concrete abutment construction
Timber boardwalk construction with handrails
Curved concrete path construction
Programme management on a tight, restricted access site
Bridge beam installation
Walkway network through reserve
Ground reinstatement and landscaping
Project in brief
Civil IQ constructed new concrete abutments and installed bridge beams to span the stream running through the reserve, before completing the timber boardwalk and walkway network that connects the reserve to the riverbank.The site presented real access challenges. A 1.8-tonne excavator was used to work within the confined bush setting where larger plant could not reach, and sequencing was carefully managed to protect the surrounding trees and vegetation throughout construction.Concrete path works and ground reinstatement followed the structure and boardwalk programme, with the reserve reopened to the public in November 2025 on completion.
The outcome
The completed works delivered a fully upgraded public reserve for the Warkworth community, including a new bridge crossing, connected boardwalk and walkway network, concrete paths and landscaped open space ready for public use.
